This is a 1989 album by a Swedish piano trio led by pianist Per Henrik Wallin, who is also active as an orchestra leader and has been part of Bernt Rosengren's group. The trio includes bassist Torbjorn Hultcrantz and drummer Leif Wennerstrom. Backed by a gently grooving rhythm section, the album showcases elegant interplay, particularly in tracks A1 and B2. Despite its orthodox style, the album features distinctive phrasing influenced by Thelonious Monk, presenting a cool modal jazz and jazz ballads throughout. The unique timbre of the piano adds to the overall charm of this well-crafted piece.
A1: Winter Rhapsody
B2: Six Down
