Pat Metheny (g), Lyre Mays (p,synth), Steve Rodby (b), Dan Gottlieb (d), and Nana Vasconcelos (per) joined as special guest on this album released in 1981. A1, with Metheny's guitar synthesizer dancing over ethnic rhythms by Vasconcelos and Gottlieb, and A2, a masterpiece with a nostalgic melodic sense that will never fade away, are perfect examples of the perfect finish of the album. The mixing by Jan Erik Kongshaug is also outstanding, with an extraordinary graininess and full bass sound. This is one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard without question.
