Led by singer Carlo Milan, who has also participated in works by Andreas Vollenweider, and featuring guitarist Chico Hablas, known for his support work with Yello, along with American saxophonist Larry Schneider, the Swiss jazz-rock septet Shivananda released their first album in 1977. This is the Polish edition with a different jacket. The album is an excellent work of fast-paced, funky jazz-rock, characterized by an aggressive rhythm section and soaring solos on synthesizer and electric guitar. The sound is technical yet groovy, reminiscent of a blend between the Dutch band Focus, which featured Jan Akkerman, and Pierre Moerlen's Gong. Recommended.
