This is the only album released by St-Erhart, a French jazz group consisting of Philippe Geiss (tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, etc.), Emmanuel Sejourne (vibraphone, piano, etc.), Claude Boussard (bass), and Gilles Fontan (drums, etc.), in 1980. Guests Jean Gobinet (trumpet), Simon Pomarat (percussion), and Francis Baur (trombone) also contribute. Throughout the album, sophisticated Euro-jazz funk unfolds, with tracks like the fast-paced rhythm section driving the horns and vibraphone in A3/B3. The Latin jazz groove of B1, with its congas laying down a Latin beat, groovy bass lines, heavy-bottomed drumming, and flowing melodies spun by the marimba and horn section, stands out as a highlight.
