This album, released in 1984 by American saxophonist Steve Grossman, who joined Miles Davis's group in the early 1970s as Wayne Shorter's successor and later played with Elvin Jones's group, as well as collaborating with Terumasa Hino and Masabumi Kikuchi, features recordings from the same year at a studio in Milan, Italy. It includes a trio with Juni Booth on bass and Joe Chambers on drums. The album showcases hard bop throughout, with highlights such as the famous Johnny Green tracks on A1/A2, John Coltrane's slow blues on A3, and B1, a piece originally performed in a 1956 collaboration between Coltrane and Tadd Dameron. Grossman's saxophone delivers consistently pleasant melodies throughout.
A3: Trane’s Slow Blues
B1: Soultrane
