Sunny Murray Trio
Live at Moers Festival
Moers Music (Germany) 1979
Momu 01054 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(TEOC, slightly dirts.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noises.)

This album features live recordings from the performance of the trio consisting of American jazz drummer Sunny Murray, known for his collaborations with Cecil Taylor and Albert Ayler, as well as his extensive work with his own groups. The trio, also comprising David Murray (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet) and Malachi Favor (bass) of the Aar Ensemble of Chicago, appeared at the <8th Moers International New Jazz Festival>, hosted by the German label Moers Music, with Cheikh Tidiane Fall (percussion) as a featured artist. While David Murray's interplay is remarkable, Sunny Murray's drumming and Cheikh Tidiane Fall's congas bring out a more primitive quality to the music.z
