An album released in 1978 by French musician Sylvio Qualda, who was active as a percussionist in an ensemble specializing in contemporary music. The album features A1 by Iannis Xenakis, a commissioned work for the English Bach Festival dedicated to Qualda with support from the Gulbenkian Foundation, A2 comprising eight pieces composed by Elliot Carter between 1949 and 1966, and B1 by Vietnamese composer Nguyen Thien Dao. While Xenakis's A1 is impressive, Dao's B1 is particularly outstanding, with the particles of striking sounds scattering across the sound field and vibrating on the skin. It has an extremely wide dynamic range.
A1: Psappha
B1: May
