The 1973 debut album by Venezuelan guitarist/keyboardist Vytas Brenner, known for his psychedelic reinterpretation of South American music into rock, includes the masterpiece Hermanos, which was also featured in the first edition of the guidebook Obscure Sound. This particular version is the Dutch pressing released with an alternative title for European distribution. Highlights include track A1, which transitions from a danceable beginning with dry-toned percussion beats and emotional, racing guitar, to a spacey synthesizer break that delivers organic melodies, eventually evolving into a high-speed progressive sound with folkloric undertones. Track A2, an extraordinary piece, opens with an emotional orchestral intro that shifts into a trippy drum and percussion break. The entire album showcases a progressive and spacey rock sound heavily influenced by Latin rhythms, making it a true masterpiece.
