Wolfgang Dauner, a German pianist who has been active since the 1960s and founded Mood Records in the 1980s, released his first leader album in 1967. This album produced several outstanding tracks that transcended genres. It featured a strong lineup including Eberhard Weber (b), Jurgen Karg (b), Fred Braceful (ds), Mani Neumeier (ds), Gerd Dudel (ts, cn), and Jean-Luc Ponty (vl). It can be considered a precursor to the masterpiece "Output," later released by ECM, and it unfolds a highly abstract avant-garde jazz. Particularly noteworthy is the impressive performance of the tabla played by Mani in track A2.
