Maki Asakawa is a singer-songwriter who started her career in the 1960's in American military camps and cabarets, and in the late 1960's was discovered by Shuji Terayama and Koji Teramoto. The album is a live recording of the New Year's Eve concert held at Kinokuniya Hall in December 1971. The album features Asakawa singing such early songs as "Chichana Tokikara", "Kamome", "Pianist Wo Ute", etc. against the backdrop of excellent performances by such outstanding players as Masaru Imada (p,keys), Kunimitsu Inaba (b), Hiroshi Tsunoda (ds), Kosuke Ichihara (ft,per), Nobuyoshi Hagiwara (g) and Yoshihiro Sugiura (g). You can enjoy her wonderful voice on this historic album.
