Maki Asakawa is a singer-songwriter who started her career in the 60's in American military camps and cabarets, was discovered by Shuji Terayama and Koji Teramoto, and started performing live at Sasori-za in Shinjuku. This is her tenth album. In addition to Nobuyoshi Hagiwara, Hiro Tsunoda, Yosuke Yamashita and Tadanori Kokawa, who have all given excellent performances on previous albums, the band includes Motonobu Oide, Kiyoshi Sugimoto, Mikio Shirai, Tamio Kawabata and Shigeharu Mukai. The A-side is a rock arrangement with folk, reggae and soul influences, while the B-side is more jazz and blues based. This is a masterpiece of expressive playing by Maki Asakawa and his outstanding players.
