This 1979 album by British guitarist Steve Hillage, known for his role in the psychedelic progressive band Gong led by Daevid Allen, showcases his wide-ranging talents. Since the 1990s, he has also been a prominent figure in the club music scene as part of System 7, a unit formed with his wife Miquette Giraudy, also a former member of Gong. This compilation was released exclusively in the U.S. and Germany, where his 1978 album Green and 1979's Live Herald were not officially issued at the time. Side A includes four tracks from Green along with the single “Getting Better,” while Side B features four studio recordings from Live Herald. With cosmic funk tracks like A3 and A4, bursting with swirling synth bass and Hillage’s signature ascending guitar lines, and the floor-friendly psychedelic rock of B3—featuring groovy beats and shimmering synth hooks—this record is packed with infectious energy and spacey vibes. Psychedelic rock at its finest.
A3 : Unidentified (Flying Being)
B3 : New Age Synthesis (Unzipping The Zype)
