Brilliant, a UK new wave group formed by Youth after leaving Killing Joke, along with Jimmy Cauty and June Montana, released their second 12-inch single in 1983. Jimmy Cauty later went on to form The KLF, while Ben Watkins, who would later join the group, founded Juno Reactor, a key player in the psychedelic trance scene. These artists became influential figures in the club scene from the 1990s onward. However, even in the early 1980s, they were already exploring highly innovative dance music. This release presents two versions of a sharply cutting, danceable electronic sound while maintaining a touch of the New Romantic vibe. Both versions are recommended. The dub mix on the B-side is particularly reminiscent of Prince.
