Formed in 1978 around Bun Itakura and debuting in 1980, Chakra was a new wave band that left behind three full-length albums before ceasing activity. This is their third and final album, released in 1983. While the group was highly skilled from the start, this album sees the lineup reduced to just Itakura and singer Michio Ogawa, with contributions from numerous session musicians such as Shuichi "Ponta" Murakami (drums) and Kiyohiko Senba (percussion). The result is an elevated level of sound production. The album showcases Itakura's progressive compositions and arrangements paired with Ogawa's unique lyrical world and versatile vocals, delivering an exceptionally original take on new wave throughout. A masterpiece where every track is a must-listen.
