This is a masterpiece of experimental Brazilian music, released in 1984 by Germany's premier modern jazz label, ECM. It features the extraordinary Brazilian duo of Egberto Gismonti and the late Nana Vasconcelos, showcasing their transcendent technical skills and boundless creativity. The album primarily consists of original compositions by the duo, alongside a vibrant acoustic reinterpretation of Ary Barroso's classic "Aquarela do Brasil" and traditional Amazonian indigenous music. Notably, track B3 stands out with Nana's primal vocals and Gismonti's piano, creating a ripple-like, beautiful sonic landscape. Though a studio recording, the sound is remarkably raw and vivid.
B1: Aquarela do Brasil
B3: Don Quixote
