This leader album, released in 1973 by Japanese bassist Isao Suzuki, known as Oma, features notable sessions with Masabumi Kikuchi, Masahiko Togashi, Hideto Kanai, and his own solo works showcasing various styles of jazz. The album includes contributions from Kunihiko Sugai (acoustic piano, electric piano), George Otsuka (drums), and Takashi Mizuhashi (bass), with six tracks performed in trio/quartet arrangements. The tagline "the greatest performance in Japanese jazz history, seemingly impossible to recreate" is not an exaggeration; the performances are a perfect blend of tension, coolness, and groove, making it a pinnacle of Japanese jazz. Suzuki's original scores on tracks A1, A3, and B3 are particularly outstanding. This is a heavyweight limited edition reissue from the TBM Super-Cut Analogue Disk series, released in 1996 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Three Blind Mice. TBM is well known for its high-quality sound, but this release delivers an even more astonishing audio experience.
