sleeve : EX-(wear on corner, wrinkle.)
media : VG+/VG+(some light noise caused by light hairlines.)
A 1974 release from Dutch pianist Leo Cuypers, who also appeared as a member of The Baden-Baden Free Jazz Orchestra on the masterpiece live album Gittin’ To Know Y’All (MPS, 1970). The recording features a host of leading Dutch jazz musicians, including Willem Breuker, Piet Noordijk, Hans Dulfer (father of Candy Dulfer), Willem van Manen, and Rob Verdurmen, captured live in September of that year. Centered on post-bop free jazz driven by a powerful brass ensemble reminiscent of the Chicago AACM, the album is packed with highlights: the percussive brilliance of Cuypers’ prepared piano on Side B2, and the aggressive flute solo of Ronald Snijders—renowned for his numerous jazz-groove classics—on Side B3, to name just a few.
