Quiet Violence
Requiem
Impetus Records (UK) 1985
IMP 18405 (LP) w/insert.
sleeve : EX-(SRW, SOC, light wear and collapse on corner, light wrinkle, some light color-faded.)
media : EX-/EX-(some light noise.)
The only album released in 1985 by Quiet Violence, a UK experimental project featuring Japanese multi-artist Junya Kawasaki, voice performer Gillian McGregor (who also participated in the obscure 1985 release by The Relative Band, a group that included Australian improvisers Jim Denley and David Moss), and guitarist John Russell. Conceived by Kawasaki and dedicated to those who passed away from cancer, this free improvisation work unfolds in a suite format: Side A consists of two tracks under the title Confusion, while Side B comprises three tracks titled Awaken. The album expresses a delirious world through sharp, angular sounds from forcefully plucked acoustic guitar strings and wild, frenzied voicing.
A2: Confusion - Violent Fragment
B1: Awaken - Wind Touching Spirit
