An album released in 1987 by Sun Ra, the man who communicated with the cosmos through music. Recorded in Milan, Italy in 1986 with his orchestra featuring key members such as Marshall Allen, John Gilmore, and Earl “Buster” Smith. The record opens with the comical A1, where the piano tumbles and skitters freely, before unfolding into an early-style big band jazz work that feels like a long journey home to its roots. That said, the sounds themselves are anything but ordinary. The vocal track—most likely featuring Sun Ra himself—is also outstanding. At the very end of the liner notes on the back cover, it reads: “‘Jazz is happiness,’ Sun Ra has said.”

A3: Yesterdays
B2: I Dream Too Much
