This is a double album best-of compilation released in 1983 by Gal Costa, the Brazilian songstress who, along with Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Maria Bethania, initiated the Tropicália movement in the late 1960s and quickly became a darling of the era. This historical artist compilation picks 25 tracks from works released over 11 years, from "-Fa-Tal-" in 1971 to "Minha Voz" in 1982. The album offers an excellent selection that allows listeners to witness Gal's growth, from her early works with a simple vocal tone to her more polished and mature sound over the years. Highly recommended.
