This album, released in 1976 as her debut, became a million-seller and earned the title of the Yoruba music queen for Nigeria's Yoruba singer, Haja Queen Salawa Abeni. This album is likely from around 1982-3. It continues the style of Yoruba traditional music called Waka, which is the root of Juju and Fuji, with a simple yet incredibly groovy percussion rhythm backed by talking drums. The vocals and choruses, characterized by a unique phrasing influenced by Islam, dance gracefully along with pleasant reverb. It's a fantastic and danceable sound. Similar to Juju and Fuji mentioned earlier, all the tracks are played non-stop. Highly recommended. The record has some surface wear and scratches, but it doesn't significantly affect the playback sound.
