A compilation album released in 1988 by Philip Tabane, a prominent South African guitarist who had been active since the early 1960s. It features two tracks from the 1978 album "Sangoma" and six tracks from the 1984 album "Malombo." The album includes standout tracks such as B2, with its thick, warm percussion and funky grooves from the drums combined with the flute, and B4, which boasts earthy percussion sounds and primitive African chants that make you feel like you've wandered into a jungle. This album is a landmark in Cape jazz with its incredibly unique grooves. Highly recommended for all tracks.
B2: Sangoma
B3: Phamba Madiba
B4: Thabang
