An album released in 1970 by American saxophonist Albert Ayler, who gained renown as a leading figure of avant-garde jazz in 1960s New York. This debut album captures live recordings from a quintet performance in the same year at the San Paul de Vence in the French Côte d'Azur. The quintet features Mary Maria (vo, ss), Call Cobbs (p), Steve Tintweiss (b), and Allen Blairman (ds). It includes reprises of early masterpieces like "Spirits," "Spirits Rejoice," and "Holy Family," as well as emotionally charged renditions of melodic pieces such as "In Heart Only," showcasing Ayler's spirituality throughout. This is the original French pressing released by Shandar.
