An album released in 1970 by Anna Lockwood, an American composer born in New Zealand. This album represents a culmination of compositions featuring glass, a material Lockwood deeply explored in the 1960s. It showcases various self-made instruments, each producing distinctive sounds while collectively creating an exceptionally deep sonic environment. These instruments include a bottle tree, where multiple bottles are pierced onto wooden rods and arranged upright; glass rods struck against glass plates; and water gongs, consisting of cylindrical containers filled with water with glass plates inside, struck with mallets. This album is reminiscent of groundbreaking works like "New And Rediscovered Musical Instruments," released by David Toop and Max Eastley on Brian Eno's Obscure label in 1975, and "Soft and Fragile," a pioneering album by Australian improviser Ros Bandt from 1983. It's a remarkable piece deserving of high recommendation.
