This album was released in 1976 by Archie Shepp, one of the greatest saxophonists of all time who, along with John Coltrane and Cecil Tayler, has produced a number of "back to the African roots" jazz masterpieces. It was recorded in a studio in Paris, France, in 1975, and features Shepp's uninhibited and relaxed saxophone playing, including A1, a tenor sax solo on a Charlie Parker tune, and B1, a spiritual sax solo lasting over 17 minutes. A2/B2, featuring vocals by singer Zusaan Festeau-Garrett, alto saxophone by Arthur Jones, and Shepp's piano playing, is highly recommended.
