This album was released in 1986 by Archie Shepp, an American saxophonist who is one of the undisputed kings of spiritual jazz, and whose many masterpieces cut deeply into racial issues. The album was released on the famous Italian jazz label Soul Note and was recorded in a studio in Milan in 1985. The album features Archie Shepp's bluesy vocals on A1 and Shepp's cover of a John Coltrane classic on B1. The song with synthesizer is also excellent.
