An album released in 1965 by Astrud Gilberto, the iconic singer of Bossa Nova, a genre created by white middle-class students and musicians living along the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the late 1950s. This album is essentially her first, released worldwide the year after she gained attention in the United States by joining The New Stan Getz Quartet. The arrangements for the album were done by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Marty Paich, with Jobim playing guitar and Joao Donato on the piano. The album features classic Bossa Nova songs like 'Agua de Beber' and 'Meditation,' and it also includes the noteworthy B1 track, 'Wayne Shorter,' which was superbly covered on his masterpiece 'Supernova.' This is likely a European reissue from the 1980s for international distribution.
