Bepol Mansiamina is a guitarist, bassist and composer who has worked with a number of artists, including the Paris-based congolese band Quarte Etoiles in the 80s and 90s. This album was released in 1983 on the popular Syllart Production label. The style of Soukous is a fusion of Cuban rumba, West African African music and Congolese traditional music, but the songwriting and arrangements are excellent and there are strong elements of jazz/fusion. The guitars with their strange wah effects and trippy synthesizers are great too.
