This is a hidden masterpiece released in 1987 by a piano trio consisting of Jorgen Emborg, Mads Vinding and Alex Riel, who are the flagship players of the Danish contemporary jazz scene, with singer Hanne Boel. The album includes live recordings from the Montmartre Jazz Festival in Copenhagen in the same year, and features covers of classic Antonio Carlos Jobim songs as well as original compositions by the trio members, providing a taste of sophisticated contemporary jazz from Scandinavia in the late 1980s. This is a great album. In particular, the synthesizer-enhanced floating tunes and urban arrangements are excellent, especially A3, which should be a favorite of those who like some of the Scandinavian jazz and ECM tunes introduced in the guide book "obscure sound". Please give it a listen.
