sleeve : VG+(color-faded.)
media : EX-/EX-(some slightly noise caused by slightly wear.)
An album released in 1972 by Charlie Mariano, the American reed player whose career spanned decades from the 1950s onward and who is well known for his numerous works infused with ethnic and Indian influences. Featuring David Spinozza (g), Tony Levin (b), Airto Moreira (per), Ralph MacDonald (per), and Asha Puthli (vocals), among others. The album opens with A1, a stunning piece of ethnic jazz where Airto’s organic percussion and sound textures intertwine with Spinozza’s wistful guitar and Mariano’s soaring soprano sax; followed by A3, a richly grooving slice of funky jazz with an irresistible rhythmic flow; and B3, inspired by South Indian traditional music. A superb record that fully embraces ethnic sensibilities within a jazz-funk/jazz-rock framework.
