This album, released in 1986, features a live recording from 1983 at the Morning Club in Paris, France. It captures a trio performance by trumpeter Chet Baker—an iconic figure of the West Coast jazz scene in the United States—alongside American pianist Duke Jordan, who was based in Europe at the time, and accomplished Danish bassist Jasper Lundgaard, a prominent figure in the European jazz scene. Centered around jazz standards, including compositions by his mentor Charlie Parker and longtime friend Miles Davis, the performance showcases Baker's signature soft and simple trumpet melodies, as well as his other hallmark: an airy, floating vocal style. The relaxed and effortless performance is truly remarkable. Jordan’s piano and Lundgaard’s bass playing are also outstanding. This is a rare recording from Baker’s later years, and was released exclusively in Japan. Please note that the obi and insert are not included.
