This is a leader album released in 1979 by American tenor saxophonist Chico Freeman, who has left many masterpieces in his career ranging from avant/free to ethnic jazz and standards, and is highly regarded as a rare groove artist. The quartet is Jay Foggard (vib), Famoudou Don Moye (ds) of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and Rick Rozie (b). Side A is a 17+ minute session with Moye and Rozie's aggressive rhythm section intertwined with Freeman's soprano and Hoggard's vibe in flowing fashion. B1 is the coolest with Moye's groovy, fast funk beat.
