1984 album by American tenor saxophonist Chico Freeman, who has produced many masterpieces in his career, from avant/free to ethnic jazz and standards, and is highly regarded as a rare groove artist. It features singer Bobby McFerrin and a number of trusted musicians including Mark Thompson, Steve Coleman, Cecil McBee, Jay Hoggard and Kenny Wheeler. The album features a number of excellent tracks with a wonderful sense of crossover, from free to moist adult ballads, including A1, with its innovative development of Wheeler's synthesiser-drawn fantasy sound mixed with swingin' jazz, and B2, with McFarrin's voice performance at its finest.
