Album released in 1986 by American tenor saxophonist Chico Freeman, who has produced many masterpieces in his career, ranging from avant/free to ethnic jazz and standards, and is highly regarded as a rare groove artist. Sextet with John Purcell, Kenny Kirkland, Mark Thompson, Cecil McBee and Elvin Jones. The album opens with A1, which has an impressive swingin' theme, followed by A2, a slow number with a pleasant adult swing reminiscent of tango, and B3, which has a gentle Latin beat and a cool, refreshing ensemble. Recommended.
A2: The Rose Tatoo
B3: Amor Sona Dor
