Conjunto Pau Brasil
Pindorama
Copacabana (Brazil) 1986
COLP-12.888 (LP) booklet (some stains)
sleeve : VG+(SRW,TEOC,partially scuffed on side/corner,slight dirt)
media : EX-/EX-(slight white noise/some parts with light white noise,A:one light scratch that doesn't affect playback)

This is a masterpiece released in 1986 by Conjunto Pau Brasil, a group centered around pianist Nelson Ayres, who has participated in works by Airto and Astrud Gilberto and left wonderful albums in the MPBC series featuring contemporary Brazilian musicians, and reed player Roberto Sion. From the beautiful intro with its wet-feeling keyboard sound, to A2, a score by Hermeto Pascoal featuring vocal improvisation and flute that develops into a tropical organic sound, and B1, which is full of fun elements such as vibrant samba rhythms, a bouncy accordion melody, and a call-and-response between scat and bass, this album brilliantly blends Brazilian tradition and sophisticated contemporary jazz, carrying on Hermeto's essence with its superb Brazilian fusion. The meticulous sound production is also wonderful. Comes with a valuable booklet.
