Danceries was formed around lutist/conductor Ichiro Okamoto, the group released "Kizuna Musique Medievale et de la Renaissance" in 1977 and "The End of Asia" in 1982 in collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto. This is a 1986 album featuring the work of Erik Satie, who is mostly known for his piano playing, but on this album he gives a wonderful performance with a unique floating composition of old instruments and vocals. The B-side, "Three Gymnopédies", is particularly noteworthy.
