This is a leader album released in 1979 by saxophonist Dave Liebman, who also toured Japan as a member of Miles Davis's group. It is a quartet work featuring a superb and cool lineup of Mike Nock (p), Ron McClure (b), and Ed Soph (dr), covering original scores by Liebman and McClure, as well as scores by Cole Porter and Duke Ellington. From straight-ahead hard bop to slow numbers with an urban New York vibe, the album showcases excellent performances that pay homage to Miles Davis and John Coltrane. The floating feel of B3, with Mike Nock's piano and Liebman's soprano saxophone swaying, is truly exceptional.
