The album was released in 1982 by David Cope, an American contemporary musician who has been involved in a wide range of compositions from orchestral to electronic music, and his experimental electronic music work "K; Weeds" released in 1971 was highly acclaimed, and as well as software development. A1 "The Way" is a small ensemble for a single performer, an experimental piece with 52 original instruments and voices created by Cope himself. It was originally conceived to be played on 27 different instruments from a collection of over 200. Concert", a composition for piano and orchestra, was composed in 1979 and is over 27 minutes long. It is also quite experimental.
