This is a leader album recorded by the American saxophonist Dexter Gordon in 1975 for the esteemed Danish label SteepleChase, after a career of collaborations with Max Roach, Art Blakey, Bud Powell, and others since the 1940s, and following a period of drug rehabilitation in the 1950s before relocating his base of operations to Europe in the 1960s. The album features recordings made with a quartet comprising Horace Parlan (piano), Niels-Henning Orsted Pederson (bass), and Tony Inzalaco (drums) in a studio in Copenhagen. It covers historical classics by Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Benny Golson, and other jazz standards, showcasing a sophisticated atmosphere typical of SteepleChase productions from the 1970s that dominates the entire session. This exceptional release was reissued domestically in 1993 as part of the "<SteepeChase Analog Collection: Carefully Selected 15>" series by Videoarts Music.
