This is a live album of the concert held in Berlin, Germany in 1968 by Eternal Rhythm Group led by Don Cherry, a master of ethnic jazz. The album also features a live performance with American guitarist Sonny Sharrock. Don Cherry's ethnic jazz connections are evident in this album. Featuring gamelan and other ethnic instruments, this is a rare live recording of the early days of Don Cherry's devotion to ethnic music. As the title suggests, this is an eternal rhythm that has been around since ancient times and never stops. This Japanese version was released in 1980 as part of the <MPS Actual Jazz 1500> series.
