An album released in 1958 by the American pianist Eddie Costa, who worked as a studio musician since the late 1950s, formed his own group in 1957, and left behind several acclaimed albums before his untimely death in a car accident at the age of 31 in 1962. In this album, Costa plays the vibraphone with the quartet featuring Bill Evans (piano), Paul Motian (drums), and Wendell Marshall (bass). His rhythmic play, a defining characteristic, remains top-notch even when translated to the vibraphone. Also noteworthy are the fresh performances of Evans, who was still relatively unknown at the time of recording. This ia a Japanese reissue in 1990 as part of the "MCA lllusionally LP Selections” series by MCA Victor.

From the insert:

This album was produced using the original analog source material. Therefore, it includes the imperfections of the original analog master tape such as tape hiss, noise, distortion, and dropouts (loss of sound). These are particularly noticeable in sections with low recording levels or where the sound fades out.
