This was featured in the first edition of the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND. Eduard Artemiev, a leading Russian composer and electronic musician known for his work on the soundtracks of Andrei Tarkovsky films, has teamed up with Yuri Bogdanov, sound engineer for the Russian state-owned label Melodia, who has performed and arranged many of Eduard Artemiev's works. Eduard Artemiev and Yuri Bogdanov, a sound engineer for the Russian label Melodia who has played and arranged many of Eduard Artemiev's works, have produced this electronic masterpiece. Using EMS analog synthesizers such as the Synthi-A, the piece ranges from retro-futuristic space age to deep space ambient, with a solemn Russian Orthodoxy feel. The sound processing is extremely intense, from A4, where you feel as if you have been thrown into a weightless space, to B5, where the chaotic sound is so bad it sounds as if you are being sucked into a black hole.

A4: Spring Etude
B5: Motion
