A 1984 release by Elements, a group featuring bassist Mark Egan and drummer Danny Gottlieb, both members of the early Pat Metheny Group, along with Crifford Carter (keys) and Bill Evans (ts,ss). The album features a number of beautiful compositions, such as A2, in which Mark Egan's 8-sided fretless bass plays a beautiful melody over a melancholic synthesizer arpeggio with finely defined hi-hat and cymbal rhythms, and the album is a transparently beautiful sound with an uplifting and intoxicating feeling that is reminiscent of Pat Metheny. This is a masterpiece of new age crossover jazz.
