This album, titled "Last Sessions Vol. 2," was recorded by the renowned American pianist Elmo Hope in 1966 at a studio in New York with John Ore on bass and Clifford Jarvis on drums. Despite the recording, it remained unreleased until 1978 when Inner City Records finally brought it to the public. Featuring leisurely renditions of Cole Porter's classics on A1 and energetically performed tunes, including Dizzie Gillespie's renowned pieces with a consistent coolness on A2, the album showcases Hope's distinctive performance style, characterized by his seasoned tone and captivating melodies. Released as a limited reissue in 1991 as part of the "Gold of G.D. 100" series by Norma/Shinseido.
