The acoustic duo Ensemble Acustico, formed in Blancarena, Uruguay, in 1980 by Billy Pereyra and Eduardo Roland, released their album on cassette tape in 1989. Now, through a collaboration between the emerging Australian archive label Fresh Hold Releases and Elations Recordings, the album has been officially reissued on analog format. The highly organic sound creation, where acoustic guitars create unexpected resonances and form harmonic compositions, links to the original New Age's harmony with nature and Gaia-like ideology. Although it was initially hailed as Uruguayan New Age music when released on cassette tape, it also reveals glimpses of world music and ECM-style jazz idioms, making it timeless even by today's standards.
