An album released in 1963 by Eric Dolphy, an American reed player who was known for his pioneering use of the bass clarinet as a lead instrument and for his long-standing career in the forefront since the late 1940s. The album features a quintet including Woody Shaw (trumpet), Robert Hutcherson (vibraphone), Eddie Kahn (bass), and J.C. Moses (drums), showcasing a gently grooving waltz jazz on A1. A2 was recorded with avant-garde jazz giants such as Heuy Simmons (alto sax), Clifford Jordan (tenor sax), Prince Lasha (flute), and Richard Davis (bass). B1 features a duo between Dolphy's bass clarinet and Richard Davis's bass, while B2 presents Dolphy's alto sax solo. These four tracks demonstrate extremely excellent performances. This is a UK reissue released in 1980.
