An obscure gem just in stock. This 1988 release comes from Det Bla Skrig, the group led by Danish pianist Frans Bak (who also recorded for L+R and Stunt), together with Frederik Lundin (ts, fl), Hugo Rasmussen (b), and Alex Riel (dr). Additional contributions come from Lars Togeby (flh), Uffe Markussen (b-cl), and Ture Larsen (tb). A concept work themed around French cinema, the album unfolds with richly atmospheric contemporary jazz, full of floating soundscapes created through extensive use of pad synthesizers. A truly overlooked masterpiece, highly recommended for fans of ECM or Scandinavian ambient jazz.
