This is the German release of an album by the renowned Austrian jazz pianist/composer Friedrich Gulda, who, while known for his work in the standard/modern jazz field, also left his mark with spacey and chaotic cosmic jazz masterpieces such as "Fata Morgana" from 1971 and "Nachricht Vom Lande" from 1977. The album was originally released in 1965 on the Austrian label Amadeo and features recordings from 1964 in São Paulo, Brazil. It's a trio performance with Jimmy Rowser on bass and Albert Heath on drums. The album includes an extended composition, A1, lasting over 20 minutes, and Friedrich Gulda's sensitive piano playing, which paints various scenes and emotions, is simply magnificent on this masterpiece.
A1: Suite 1962
