An ambient project by Fripp & Eno, released in 1975, featuring Robert Fripp, the central figure of the legendary UK progressive rock band King Crimson, and Brian Eno, who had left Roxy Music and founded his own label, Obscure. This is their second album, following "(No Pussyfooting)" released in 1973. The sound has completely shifted towards ambient/experimental, but it heavily features sparkling electric guitar sounds that resonate with Krautrock artists like Manuel Göttsching, Moebius, and Roedelius of Harmonia. A1, in particular, is widely cited even today as a typical format for ambient/chill-out music in the club scene since the 1990s. B1, which fills the entire side of the record, is an endlessly deep drone sound created by synthesizer and electric guitar feedback, and is also a classic track. This is a historically significant album. This is a 1986 reissue produced by Virgin.
