American jazz bassist Gary Peacock released a leader album on ECM in 1982, featuring ECM regulars Jan Garbarek (ts,ss) and Jack Dejohnette (ds), and Tomasz Stanko, one of the leading trumpeters of Polish jazz. On A1, Tomasz Stanko's trumpet plays a distorted solo that is instantly recognizable, and Gary Peacock's bass echoes in the silence, creating a spiritual space. B3, where Jan Garbarek and Tomasz Stanko's experimental horn work over Jack Dejohnett's spacey drumming, is so spiritual that you can't help but gasp at the tension in the air as the members play together. Jan Garbarek and Tomasz Stanko have a unique sound policy, and the interplay between their unique tones is truly amazing. US edition with label catalog.
